Old Fashioned Foods is probably best known for its range of traditional steamed puddings, sold under the Aunt Betty’s brand in New Zealand and Australia, and the Aunty’s brand in the UK. We’re market leaders within the dessert category, but in more recent times have successfully launched new, market-leading products in food categories such as Oils and Spreads.
Our newest acquisition, Hansells, has a large range of products that are much loved by Kiwis, especially in the baking needs category. However they also make powdered drinks, juice concentrates, instant desserts, cereal soups, homemade yoghurt and artificial sweeteners under the Hansells, King, Empire, Vitafresh, Baker Halls, Yog-it and Weight Watchers brands.
Old Fashioned Foods is considered one of New Zealand’s leading export companies as we successfully supply product on a large global scale, including to Tesco and to major supermarkets in the UK.
We’ve grown steadily from a cottage industry with three staff to a significant food marketing operation with subsidiaries in Australia and the UK, and now have combined staff numbers for the group exceeding 500. And we have three manufacturing sites – Penrose and New Lynn in Auckland, and in Masterton. Additionally, we operate our own distribution, selling and merchandising systems to ensure our products get to their destinations when and how we say they will.
